Chiara Bautista: Milk

Nina
It’s such a pleasure viewing the illustrations of Arizona-based Chiara Bautista aka Milk. Her style and choice of imagery (among other things) suggests this is lowbrow art, but (for me) it overlaps with fetish in a very unique and subtle way. Seemingly, each and every character she creates is rapped up in a world of sorrowful emotions or curiosities. Those expressions, along with her illustrative sensibility make for some very intriguing and highly original artwork. You can check out more of her work on her MySpace page. To my best knowledge, she’s yet to have a website dedicated purely to her art.

Strangely similar to the art of Fuko Ueda.

Really beautiful. The paintings are great, but for me the more graphic style works even better.
Does anyone know if she sells prints of her work anywhere?
